Any Democrat who is a registered voter can participate as a County Delegate to the County Convention

County Convention:

  • Held every year
  • Elect Chair and 3 Vice Chairs
  • Elect State Executive Committee people
  • Elect delegates to the South Carolina Democratic Party Convention
  • Elect precinct Executive Committee members to make up the County Executive Committee

State Executive Committee

  • Made up of Executive Committee members from Counties
  • Conduct the business of the SCDP
  • State Executive Committee (2 year term)

State Convention:

  • Held every year
  • Elect Chair and 3 Vice Chairs
  • Approve Resolutions
  • Elect delegates to National Convention
  • Etc.
  • State Delegates (for two conventions)

County Executive Committee

  • Made up of Executive Committee members from Precincts
  • Conduct the business of the LCDP
  • Approve budgets, approve treasurer, approve secretary, approve representatives to standing State Party Committees, etc. 
  • County Executive Committee (2 year term)
