The US House of Representatives has proposed a cruel and heartless budget resolution that will cut $880 million from the Medicaid program and $130 billion from the SNAP program. All of this to achieve savings to pay for continued and new tax cuts for our country’s wealthiest residents & corporations. On top of this the administration has virtually shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Congress is working toward repealing this agency’s regulations to cut junk and overdraft fees. Our Junior Senator Tim Scott is the sponsor of this effort in the US Senate. Sue will discuss these efforts and Governor McMaster’s proposal to make people work in order to be eligible for Medicaid,
