
After Beth Shealy resigned, there is an open school board seat and there will be a special election on June 23, 2026.
Running for the seat are:
Dana Homesley an S.C. Association of Counties claims adjuster
Shelton Yonce who works in commercial real estate
Crystal Baker has seven children in the district and said she has spent years working alongside schools and educators.

Both Homesley and Yonce ran for the board in 2024. They both finished with 10% of the vote. Voting will take place at the Election Commission, 605 W. Main St, Lexington. Early voting will be weekdays, June 8-19th from 8:30am-5pm.
