If you qualify to vote by paper absentee ballot, Oct. 25 is the deadline to request it from your county election office either by phone or in-person. You can’t request it by email. Once you get the application, complete it and sign it and return it right away. Your absentee ballot will then be sent to you. Follow the enclosed instructions to complete it and send it back.
Finally, go to scvotes.gov and check out your sample ballot. In some counties, there may be several non-partisan races such as school board, or other offices. There may also be local initiatives. Also there is a Constitutional Amendment. You can print your sample ballot, make your decisions on each race/issue, and take it with you when you go to vote. Be an informed voter!
