Hello Democratic Family! The Lexington County Democratic Party is holding our County Convention on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2-6pm. The convention will be at the Rosenwald Community Learning Center:420 Hendrix St.Lexington, SC 29072.

Our keynote speaker will be Christale Spain, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair.

Any registered voter in Lexington County who considers themselves a Democrat can attend the convention and vote for the following leadership positions:
Chair, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Vice Chair, Executive Committee person (male and female) and alternates
Delegates to the State Party Convention.
The Democratic Party at its heart is a grass-roots organization and this is a great opportunity to all people who support democratic values to participate in this important process.

LexCoDem Convention

During our County Convention on March 15, the LCDP will be hosting a food drive. If you are able to participate please bring a non perishable food item to the Convention.

The food that is collected will be split across three local food banks that need help: Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Mission Lexington, and First Cavalry Baptist Church.

  2. Invocation – Moment of Silence – 1st Vice Chair – Valencia Bostic
  3. Pledge of Allegiance & Singing of National Anthem – Taylor Goodwin
  4. Announcement/Introduction of Elected Officials or Candidates Present
  5. Keynote Speaker – Christale Spain, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair
  6. Election of Convention Officers
    a. Convention Chair – Randy Herald
    b. Convention Secretary – Julia Frazer
    c. Convention Treasurer – Lee Smith
  7. What the World Needs Now – performed by Taylor Goodwin
  8. Pass the Hat – Lee Smith
  9. Election of County Party Officers
    a. Convention Chair Conducts the Election of Party Officers.
    b. Job Descriptions of Each Position is Read Before Nominations.
    c. County Party Officers elected today will serve a two-year term.

Note: The Secretary and Treasurer are elected by the county party Executive Committee in a meeting, no more than 30 days after the convention.

  • The convention should vote once to confirm all of the unopposed names to
    Executive Committee members.
  • A separate election must be held for each of the precincts with more than one candidate. The entire convention has final vote on these

  • Resolutions presented are to be voted on to be sent to the state party to be
    considered for discussion and approval.
  1. Election of Delegates to the State Convention –
    Announce that the State Democratic Convention will be held May 31st in Columbia.

    In 2025 Lexington County is allotted a total of 102 Delegates and 20 Alternates
    to be equally split between men and women.
