At this pivotal moment in history, we must recognize the weight of our individual responsibility. The challenges we face—attacks on our democratic institutions, assaults on fundamental rights, and the erosion of trust in our system—demand bold action, unity, and unwavering commitment. We cannot afford to be bystanders. The stakes are too high.
“These are not normal times in our nation“. Senator Cory Booker powerfully stated, “And they should not be treated as such in the United States Senate. The threats to the American people and American democracy are grave and urgent, and we all must do more to stand against them.”

Senator Booker’s speech against the Trump administration broke the record for the longest speech in US Senate history at 25 hours and 6 minutes. The previous record was held by South Carolinian and longtime supporter of racial segregation, Strom Thurmond.
The time to be engaged and fight for the values that define us is now. We must reach every Lexington County democratic voter, amplify our voices, and ensure that justice, fairness, and democracy prevail.
As your newly elected county chair, my goal is to get more information out to you, the voters, so you can be more aware of what’s going on in our county. My ask is for your engagement. The Lexington County Democratic Party needs to break our own records! Years of unfilled precinct leadership positions and unfilled state delegate positions – nearly 50% – have come to an end. It is time for you to step up, and save democracy within our county, our state, and our nation.
Let us rise to this challenge together. Let us not waver in the face of adversity, but instead, meet it with resilience and resolve. Our democracy depends on it.
With determination and purpose,
M. Greg Green, LCDP Chair
